Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases Wednesday, exceeded 3, 000 as 195 new infections were announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Yobe debunks reports residents died of COVID-19 complications

The Yobe government says nobody has died of COVID-19 complications in the state.

The state government said this in reaction to reports that a number of people have died of the disease in the state.

In a statement Thursday, media aide of the state governor, Mai Mala Buni, Mamman Mohammed, said Yobe only recorded its first COVID-19 case last week.

COVID-19 funds from the private sector will be used to fund supplementary budget

The ministry of finance says the federal government will be using private sector COVID-19 donations to fund a 2020 supplementary budget. 

The office of the accountant-general of the federation said “in addition to the main CACOVID Fund Account with CBN,” President Muhammadu Buhari has “approved the opening of five COVID-19 Donor Accounts”.
