Lagos health commissioner tests positive + other COVID-19 updates across Nigeria
Lagos Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, has tested positive to coronavirus.
“Subsequent to close contact with persons feeling unwell and testing positive for the COVID-19 infection, the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has tested positive for the virus,” Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso said in a statement on Monday.
Omotoso added that Abayomi became aware of his status following the required testing protocol of contact tracing procedures.

Awolowo said his COVID-19 ordeal began one Saturday morning when he could not go for his usual walk because of “extreme fatigue”.

Gombe government obtains e-tablets, charts, others for public schools
Gombe Governor, Inuwa Yahaya has obtained instructional materials to boost the delivery of quality education.
Yahaya said one of the cardinal programmes of his administration is to ensure that sound education is adequately and properly provided for the young people right from the basic level.
The governor stated this when he visited to the ministry of education where he inspected some instructional materials procured by the State Education Programme Investment Project (SEPIP), a world bank project designed to address some of the challenges in schools as a result of insurgency in the Northeast.
COVID-19 deaths shoot past 1,000 in Nigeria
1,002 persons have died of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
According to a tweet by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, released on Sunday night, 322 new cases were recorded across the country.
So far, Nigeria has 52,227 confirmed cases with 38,945 persons discharged.
