The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, has said educated and ‘well-to-do’ Nigerians constitute many of the fatalities from COVID-19 in Nigeria.
“A disturbing picture emerging from statistics is that not only are most fatalities observed to be linked with preexisting diseases, many are educated, well-to-do people, who chose home-based care, where they develop sudden complication and have to be rushed to hospital,” he said.

‘Kogi frustrating efforts to test for COVID-19’ — doctors raise the alarm
Doctors at the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja, Kogi, have accused the administration of Yahaya Bello, the governor, of frustrating efforts to test patients who have COVID-19 symptoms.
This is despite the state government’s claim of testing 111 patients, all of which were confirmed negative for COVID-19.

Police Embark on Strict Enforcement of Curfew, Interstate Travel Ban
The police yesterday began strict enforcement of the nationwide curfew and interstate travel ban imposed by President Muhammadu Buhari two weeks ago.
The police commands, particularly in Lagos and Ogun as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), acting on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, locked down their areas of operation from 8pm, insisting that there was no exemption for anybody including essential workers.
